Hello! Today the July card kit was released from Simon Says Stamp and it's such a fun summery kit! It has a great nautical theme perfect for all that summer sailing and water fun! ;)
For my card today I used some of the patterned papers from the kit to create a sky and some water - I love the grey patterned paper with the white seagulls all over... works perfect for a sky!
I used some dies to create the stitched rectangle border and the stitched lines for the waves. I then stamped and coloured the sailboat with Copic markers and then cut it out with scissors, leaving a small white border around the edges.
I adhered the water pieces onto the sky piece and then tucked the boat in between the two layers so it looks like it's actually in the water rather than on top of it.
I stamped the sentiment directly on the patterned paper pieces with black Versafine ink. I stamped the clouds with Versamark ink onto some scrap pieces of vellum and then heat embossed them with SSS white embossing powder. I cut them out with scissors leaving a little border around the edges and then adhered them onto the card.
I made sure to use liquid adhesive and only added it behind the embossed lines on the clouds so it wouldn't show through the vellum.
To finish the card, I added some clear wink of stella to the aqua areas on the boat and then I scattered some clear sequins around the card front in various sizes. I added silver stickles to the centers and also added a few dots of the stickles by itself.
